VERDE LED to exhibit at Light + Build Fair 2014

VERDE LED will again have a strong presence at the Light & Build Fair 2014, due to take place in Frankfurt, Germany from the 30th of March to the 4th of April. Light & Build is the worlds leading fair for Lighting and Building Services with over  2,300 exhibitors and nearly 200,000 visitors.

The Fair will take place at the centrally located Messe Frankfurt Fairground in the city centre. VERDE LED’s exhibition can be found at Hall 10.1, Stand C57 for the week long event.

VERDE LED were proud to be the title sponsor of the Irish National Basketball Finals held in Dublin on the 24th of January.An enthralling nights action in the National Basketball Arena saw Cork side Mardyke UCC Demons run out victors over local side Dublin Inter in the Men’s Final. Another Cork side, Team Montenotte Hotel enjoyed a narrow overtime victory over Limerick side UL Huskies in a tightly fought encounter.

PCH to install Verde LED system in Shenzhen and San Francisco offices

Irish-headquartered company PCH International has entered into a partnership with Verde LED to install an energy efficient lighting programme in one of its Shenzhen-based manufacturing facilities as well as PCH’s new US headquarters due to open shortly in San Francisco.

Verde LED is a specialist in commercial LED lighting solutions with operations in US, UK and Ireland and a global distribution network.

The new LED lighting programme will deliver improvements in energy efficiency, light quality and durability. It will also reduce energy consumption by 60pc, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 270 tons per year in Shenzhen, and will have an economic payback of two years

PCH CEO Liam Casey described this as “a fantastic collaboration between Irish and Chinese companies”.

This is the latest in a number of sustainability initiatives that PCH is implementing in the supply chain.

Verde LED Secures Major Energy Saving Lighting Contract With Cypriot Market Leader

Verde LED has won a contract with Cypriot bakery chain, A. Zorbas & Sons Ltd, a company with revenues of over €80 million.

The contract will see Verde LED supply and install its range of LED lighting products to all 53 Zorbas stores across the island of Cyprus.

Founded in 1975 in Cyprus, Zorbas has grown to be the market leader supplying local and international customers. A. Zorbas & Sons Ltd has a 20,000m2 manufacturing plant which supplies its own 53 shops, as well as local and international customers. It is one of the largest enterprises of the country and employs 1,300 people.

Verde LED’s energy efficient lighting products will reduce Zorbas & Sons energy operating costs by 60% and significantly reduce maintenance due to the longer lifespans of LED lighting product, which is up to 5 times longer than the conventional lighting it is replacing.

Among the products being supplied is the new Verde 36W adjustable downlight. Speaking about this new product, John Keohane, Director of Verde LED said “The Verde 36W adjustable downlight is a product that we brought to market at the end of 2012 and is one which has proven to be a phenomenal success in the retail industry, as this sector now focuses more on product enhancement lighting. Verde LED retrofit Europe’s largest purpose built data centre with energy efficient LED lighting

Verde LED have recently completed the lighting retrofit of the Global Switch data centre, in London’s Docklands. The building, almost 1 million sq. ft. in size, has an energy demand equivalent to the domestic energy consumption for the city of Glasgow.

The project has delivered energy savings of more than 65% to Global Switch, a significant reduction in their carbon footprint, as well as on-going maintenance cost savings.

Payback on the investment was just over one and a half years.
