VERDE LED who specialise in the design, supply and installation of LED efficient lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications announced a deal with 20C to supply its energy efficient LED lighting solutions for the “Greenest” power station in the UK.
2OC, a green utility company based in the UK, began construction of the combined heat and intelligent power (CHiP) plant at Beckton in east London in 2013 with J Murphy & Sons appointed as the main contractor. The plant is located adjacent to the National Grid Gas Pressure Reduction Station.
The main source of fuel for the plant will be the fats, oils and gases, which are thrown away by households and restaurants.
The plant will have annual output of 130GWh of electricity, while the installed capacity will be 19MW. It is expected to operate at an electrical efficiency of more than 65% and provide power for approximately 40,000 households.

VERDE LED used a combination of innovative state of the art Modular LED lights combined with remote controlling to win the contract ahead of stiff international competition.
The result is that the power station will save 41 tonnes of carbon per annum and provide 62% energy savings compared to traditional lighting technology.
John Keohane, CEO of VERDE LED praised his customer and colleagues for an outstanding project which now sets the bar for industrial projects worldwide.
“Our ability to design an innovative, high performance solution to operate in a very demanding environment is testament to our team of engineers who worked on this project from the beginning.”

VERDE LED, continues rapid expansion into overseas markets
VERDE LED who specialise in the manufacture of LED efficient lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications have announced new worldwide distribution deals , worth €6m, and also announced plans to open a branch office in Stuttgart, Germany following a hugely successful fair at Light and Build 2014 in Frankfurt .
The Frankfurt Light and Build fair is the largest of its kind in the world with over 2,500 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors every 2 years.
Director of VERDE LED, John Keohane is excited about the growth the company is experiencing : “We are thrilled with the response from the fair in Frankfurt. Sticking to our core values of quality and service has led to increased business domestically and internationally and we are confident that these new distribution agreements signed at the fair will lead to much more business as demand continues to grow for quality LED lighting.”
VERDE LED also launched a revolutionary low cost wireless control system at the fair to industry acclaim.
Commenting at the launch, John explained the benefits of the new system : “While there have been control systems before, these tended to be mostly hardwired, expensive and complicated to use. This led to the end user not getting the full value of the system and also prevented the widespread adoption of controls. Now with VERDE CONTROLS we have developed a low cost wireless control system that is easy to use, low cost to install and easy to install because it is based on a wireless Zigbee protocall. Customers can expect on average a further 40-50% energy savings on top of the savings already generated from the LED lights themselves ”
